End of nights

I guess I'm done with nights. I wouldn't have been working tonight anyways, and since I'm only around for 3 more nights, transitioning back to days makes more sense to do now. Now for the sampling rush... all those nights I could only think about which samples I wanted to take, I have to make these last hours count.

Working with the drillers was something else. These blue collar bushmen work as hard as they can to achieve big bonuses every shift. They are constantly lifting, pulling and twisting and maintaining; they have to be part time mechanics too. On top of that, they work on 6 week rotations, and often find themselves with less than 2 weeks break. I asked them how they spend their money, and the answer I got was they make a pile. I tried to make myself useful with while at the rig, but I could only really get in the way. I walk away from this with intimate knowledge of how core makes it from the crust into a box.

Well, onto days, I guess I'll just try to sleep tonight and see if I can't get up tomorrow morning. But it will be a sleep in day i'm sure.
